We’re back from holidays and gearing up for the launch of our little word puzzle game VITRIOL. It will be out on iPhone and iPad on October 1st 2021, and we’ll have more details here on some exciting things we have planned for launch weekend very soon!
One of our favourite parts of our development process was getting to team up with the amazing artists of Credo Quia Absurdum on the art. And Credo have made these glorious tote bags in honour of our game too. You can buy your own right here, but to celebrate Friday the 13th we want to send one out to a kindred spirit next week!
If you would like your own VITRIOL tote, have a go at the acrostic below (or in an online version here) and send your answer to playvitriol@gmail.com. On Friday 20th August we’ll shuffle the names of all the correct entries, pick one out of a hat, and send the winner one of our tote bags to wherever they live in the world!
We’re also gearing up for our next adventure. Over the last few months we’ve been working on a new tool that makes machine learning directly accessible and useful to writers. Our tool learns from a writer’s own body of work then offers creative suggestions and improvements to their text in the writer’s own voice. It is essentially a personalised writing partner.
I’ve been training our tool for the last few months using an old draft novel of mine. The suggestions I’m getting (for plot branches, dialogue lines, & character motivations) are GREAT - all rooted in my fantasy world & my overwrought voice. Like this:
We’ll hopefully have lots more to share over the coming months, and in the meantime - we’re trying to “find our audience” in advance of some big funding pitches we have coming up. We’re hoping to understand the factors that make people keen on trying out our new tool & any factors that might push them away. So if you have any feedback, or if you are a writer keen to try out our tool, please do let us know!
