From Our Kitchen To The World
Hello from the hub of our universe - our kitchen table!

We’ve been intensifying our work on LAIKA - our tool for games writers that combines machine learning and procedural generation. Our exciting news today is that we’ve been interviewing great candidates all week for two developer positions, and in a very short time we’ll be able to announce our new hires, doubling our team to four people!
If you’re at a loose end on March 25th, we still have a handful of places left for our next Experimental Writing With AI workshop. If you’d like to sign up, you can do so right here.
Part of what we’re doing with each successive workshop is growing a little community of curious souls who want to experiment and collaborate together using AI. If that sounds like a place you’d feel at home, you’re very welcome to join our Discord channel.
In other news, there’s lots of cool things happening out there at the intersections of AI and creativity if you’d like some rabbit holes to jump into!
Our friends Mike, Mads, Florence and Younès have set up a creative AI collective called Knives & Paintbrushes. You can explore their research and experiments right here.
If you have a hankering to experiment with machine learning, there are tons of free and accessible tools available at Tiny Tools. Simply click on the “machine learning” tab and you’ll be brought to loads of jumping off points for your weekend’s creative moments!
If you want the creativity to stream all the way into your inbox, then we highly recommend the newsletter AI Weirdness. Guaranteed to make you laugh… and then immediately say “what if I…”
Stay tuned - we’ll be back soon with more news on our next steps with LAIKA!

One last note. We recognise the immense privilege we have to be able to spend some of our days experimenting and creating in a world so full of strife and turmoil. Our hearts break for the people suffering in Ukraine at the moment, and for the fracturing of the world we know. On Sunday March 13th at 5pm Copenhagen time (see time in your timezone here), Char will lead a donate-what-you-want online hour of restorative yoga: including breathing meditation, gentle movements, and guided relaxation. All donations will be matched up to a total of €500, and will be split equally between Médecins Sans Frontières, Ukrainian Red Cross, and World Central Kitchen. If you would like to participate, you can sign up here.
